diy | easy dip-dye hair

if you sub to me on youtube then you will have already seen this so i apologise, but i wanted to share this method of dip-dyeing with all of you so here goes...

you will need
soft chalk pastels
ideally, some hair

i decided to go for pastelly colours to match my nails! :)

wet the chalk, twist your hair and "paint" the wet chalk onto the hair in downward motions

to set the chalk into your hair you just need to use a little heat (blowdrying & straightening will do the trick) and maybe some hairspray if you've gone for a more vivid colour. i think i'm going to try hot pink next!

if you want to see the method in a bit more detail you can always take a peek at the video i have made, but it's a pretty easy concept so i'm sure you all get it! the only words of caution with this method would be to have a baby wipe to hand when you use your blowdryer/straightener as they will get covered in dust, and also when you next wash your hair give it a bit of tlc with a good conditioner and leave it on for a few minutes to really soak in, chalk is very drying so it will have robbed a bit of moisture from your hair!

that's it! i'll finish off with some obligatory photos of me posing like a hipster with my dip-dye...

let me know if you're going to try it! much love, sian xxx

    1. as long as your hair stayed dry it would. it would even last if your hair got wet... but the chalk might turn into paint & start running! it would last though xx
